OSI Group Has Experienced Global Success Due To Sheldon Lavin’s Policies

The food industry has been growing for many decades and it is one of the biggest industry that people just cannot go without. OSI Group is one of the biggest players in the food market with food processing and manufacturing that happens all over the world in many different countries today. Since the 1970’s OSI Group has been successfully expanding around the globe and today that have more than twenty thousand employees spread out around the globe in dozens of different facilities. Sheldon Lavin has been the major driver behind the company’s expansion over the years and the company is still growing to this day because of it.

OSI Group was first founded back in 1909 under a different name with different owners and it wasn’t until the 1970’s when Sheldon Lavin took over as company director that the name changed. When Otto Kolschowsky first started the company back in 1909 as a meat shop, he never expected it to become what it is today. That is a billion-dollar organization that has become a global leader in food manufacturing and processing. Although the meat shop expanded rather quickly and beat out the competition within the local region, it wasn’t until it built a contract with McDonald’s that the company really started reaching new heights. When they started using new freezing techniques for their meats, they could take on more demands and the company expanded greatly each year for several years.

In 1975, when Sheldon Lavin gained control of the company, he rebranded it to OSI Group and started on the global expansion of the company. It was in 1975 that Sheldon had officially become a part of the company, since before that he only consulted and worked directly with the owners for specific matters. Sheldon Lavin was brought in for financial matters when the Otto & Sons company was trying to expand and take on bigger contracts with McDonald’s. With decades of experience in finance and banking behind him, Sheldon had no trouble building the OSI Group empire.
