Securus’ Genius Masterminding Leads to Enhanced Security

On many occasions, I have wondered how safe I was, especially in the digital age we’re living in. Every now and then, I hear someone that I know was hacked or some information was stolen from their phone and so on. And on the flip side, I keep seeing articles of how a convict managed to slip through the cracks of justice because there wasn’t enough evidence to convict, or whatever evidence was presented was inadmissible in a court of law, or they could not obtain a warrant to search through perpetrators information, especially digital information.

The matter isn’t all hopeless, at least not while Securus has a say in the matter. Securus is a technologies company that was started back in 1986, and the main aim of the company is to ensure safety especially for civilians. To date, they serve well over 3,400 public safety, correction and law enforcement agencies across Dallas, Carrollton, and Allen states of Texas as well as Atlanta, Georgia. They also serve over 1.2 million inmates in the States and Canada. They also have a wide market base as they deal with biometric analyses, incident management, public information, communication, emergency response provision, inmate self-service, product monitoring and myriad other services and products that work in synergy to ensure more secure communities.

Most companies look good on paper, but I believe the true test is in the efficiency and effectiveness of their products, followed by customer and user satisfaction. True to this, Securus recently released a few of their emails and letters regarding customer experience. Going through the emails, I couldn’t help but feel the satisfaction of the users and the security assurance behind it.

Some of the emails that stood out were:

  • One user from a U.S prison facility stated that with the help Securus offered, they were able to obtain information from phone calls and secure a search warrant to formerly investigate and charge a corrupt member of their staff.
  • Another user still from a US prison facility talks of how Securus monitored calls that contained information of drugs being used and sold in the facility as well as issues of free access to cellphones by the inmates, and conversation about suspicious money transfer. Securus was able to decode that the drugs were being sold at a discount by a civilian. The information was handed to the relevant authorities and action was taken.
  • A user commends Securus for their consistency and dedication to securing citizens and inmates alike, and notes that their facility has solely relied upon Securus to offer all their security related solutions.

We are faced with a lot of threats, both in the virtual and digital front as well as in real life. But I certainly feel safer knowing companies like Securus are looking out for my safety.
